5 Tips for Effective Video Marketing for Medical Professionals

Data released by Internet Retailer says that online users are 85 percent more likely to buy a product or service after they have watched a related video on it. However, not every video is successful in influencing audiences, and more importantly, most videos do not achieve the desired level of online exposure in an extremely competitive and crowded online video space.

Here are a few tips medical professionals can use to market their videos effectively on the Internet:

1. Upload videos regularly

Several studies have shown that businesses that achieve greater success with online videos are the ones that have tirelessly and consistently created and posted a large number of good quality videos on the Internet. Successful brands on average have 50 percent more videos per Internet video channel compared to brands that are less successful.

2. Pay Attention to YouTube SEO

YouTube has emerged as the second biggest search engine after Google. YouTube SEO requires a different approach compared to conventional website SEO. Leading businesses follow YouTube SEO according to its rules in order to achieve optimal exposure. They maintain a high number of video tags and playlists as a strategy to get better search rankings.

3. Integrate Online Video Marketing with Traditional Marketing

If a traditional marketing event, seminar or activity is conducted to promote the business, it should be produced as a video as well. A video series of such offline marketing events and activities can be promoted online. This can be done for a focused group such as those who participated at the event or for the general target audiences as well.

4. Strong video content scores over the number of video channels

Having multiple YouTube channels for different sets of target audiences is important. However, what is more important is to have good quality content on each channel, and regularly updating the channel with fresh videos. Spreading the channels too thin and not having the capacity to justify all of them will not be a smart strategy.

5. Use Social Networking to Promote Online Videos

Many social media studies have shown that posts on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks that include an online video link receive a much higher viewership and response. The audience on social media is highly receptive and predisposed towards video content in general. That is the best place to market your online videos with the least amount of effort.
