How to Create YouTube Videos that Sell

There are far too many reasons why YouTube can work marketing miracles for your veterinary practice. In addition to boosting Google ranking for your veterinary practice website, YouTube videos provide an easy and cost-effective way to creating a personal connection with your clients. Add to that, mind boggling stats (1 billion unique user visits each month among others) and you have one of the most powerful information distribution platforms to reach out and connect with potential clients. In short – YouTube is a unique and formidable marketing resource for effective veterinary marketing.

Tips for Making YouTube Videos that your clients will actually see

The biggest benefit of producing interesting YouTube videos is that it allows you to put your veterinary practice brand, in front of millions of potential viewers. However, there is a catch here – you need to produce videos that are interesting and appealing to your target audience.

Research your Target Audience

Keep in mind that YouTube users search for videos that interest them; for a majority of pet owners, the topic of interest is how to care for their pets. But how do u ascertain which aspect of pet health care is interesting to potential clients? Research is the key – Start by researching your audience; find out what types of videos appeal to them; and create videos which specifically cater to their wants and needs.

Use your Own Creativity

When creating your YouTube videos it is best to adopt one or more approaches for capturing the attention of your target audience instead of simply mimicking your competitor.Your video can be on the lines of an infomercial, or even a traditional commercial produced with the aim of promoting and selling your services or for introducing your veterinary practice. But why stop there? Take the raw material you already have and package it into a video which is instructional or use the material to create a demo video. You could even produce a “how-to” video with a very subtle sales message.

Make it Visually Appealing

Whether you are share news, facts, or any other pertinent information with your audience in your videos, remember the key is go with the most visually interesting and entertaining way for conveying the information. Use entertainment and/or humor creatively in a way which will make otherwise boring or complicated information interesting. Make smart presentation choices by incorporating colorful and animated charts or graphs; bulleted lists, and tables when required.

Keep it Short and Sweet

The ideal length of a video should not exceed 2 to 3 minutes. Studies have revealed that 10 percent of viewers move away after viewing a video for 10 seconds and 53 percent click away after 1 minute. So what you say in those minutes is critical; whether it is welcoming video of your website, a video giving a brief tour of your facility, a happy client giving a testimonial on your care for a pet, or it is a video providing instructions on how to brush a dog’s teeth it is important to keep it sweet, keep it simple, and more importantly interesting.

Humor it up

Ok, granted that information sells. However, it does not have to always be straight up right from the can kind of information! Lighten things up by creating humorous videos; for example you could shoot pet antics, add a little narrative and upload it. Have you seen how many views “lolcats” gets? Humor has the potential to go viral instantaneously; and animal humor, even more so!
