Medical IT Entrepreneurs and Innovators – Part 3

CarePlanners

CarePlanners was founded by Alan Blaustein and Nancy Snyderman in 2012 to provide caregiver and patient coordination, navigation and organization solutions through a countrywide team of medical experts, including social workers, registered nurses, Medicare specialists, insurance and billing experts, and other medical advocates, in addition to an advanced set of online medical decision-making tools.

Dr. Nancy Snyderman holds the position of Chief Medical Editor at NBC. She is also a surgeon and a caregiver. Alan was among the earliest Internet entrepreneurs, and held top positions at OpenSky, Flexplay and About.com. CarePlanners has its head office in New York City, and aims to serve the largest number of people across the nation by leveraging the power of medical IT and the Internet.

Docphin

Docphin was co-founded by Sachin, Mitesh and Derek, who together constitute a team of entrepreneurs and doctors. Their goal is to transform the way medicine is practiced in the United States. Docphin is a unique healthcare IT platform designed for providers of healthcare to share, connect and personalize through medical research. The platform also facilitates healthcare institutions to new financing and accreditation requirements.

Docphin was launched in May 2012 at three health facilities, and within the next three months, it had spread to more than 35 leading health systems across the nation. Some of the top systems using Docphin include Penn, Harvard, John Hopkins, UCSF and Stanford. Docphin, which is based in NYC, has already entered into partnerships with various organizations such as the AAMC.

Health Information Technology (HIT) has been recognized as one of the most effective tools to enhance the quality and reduce the costs of health systems. It is also employed to minimize medical errors, improve organizational efficiencies, reduce medical paperwork, and enhance accessibility to affordable healthcare for all. Health IT entrepreneurs and innovators are helping transform the entire healthcare system on a universal scale.
