Get Rid of Poor Quality Links to your Dental Website

Gone are the days when you could indulge in rampant link building for your dental website, and enjoy good search engine rankings just on that basis. Now quite the opposite is likely to happen if your website has too many low quality links. Dubious linking practices even by highly reputed websites have earned the wrath of Google and other search engines since last year. Google has been advising webmasters to clean up their link building act and steer clear of low quality links to their websites.

If your dental website is still stuck with the old idea of reckless link building, it is time you got rid of that approach. Even if some of your dental marketing competitors may still be engaging in low quality link building, but that still does not make a good reason for you to engage in the same futile practice. Do not let yourself be carried away by the fact that one of your dentistry competitors continues to dominate the web for one or more specific keywords just due to spammy link building. Chances are that the competitor may be ranking high for some other reason, and if it is only spammy links, that website is likely to be pulled down from its high ranks by Google and other search engines sooner than later.

If you wish to determine whether the links to your dentistry website are of high or low quality, you can try to check a few basic points. If you find that a website linking to your dental site has too many ads and too little content, it is likely to be considered a low quality link by Google. If the site lacks good quality content or relevant content, and indulges in spun content, search engines will treat that link as a low quality one. Finally, if a site has too much general content catering to a wide audience, but receives very little traffic, it is likely to be perceived as a low quality site by search engines.

As the owner of a dental website, if you feel your site may be saddled with too many low quality links, you ought to sit down with your webmaster and start working on a strategy to clean up the bad links from your site. Improve your dental site content to attract natural, organic links from reputed websites. Use high quality videos, images, webinars, white papers, blogs and infographics to enhance the quality of your content and build relevant links to achieve higher page rankings for your website.
